USB Controller for LED Scoreboard Displays |

J. Gordon Electronic Design assisted Trans-Lux Fair Play to develop a new controller for its customized electronic LED scoreboards and displays. End users program the displays using Windows-based PC application software supplied by Trans-Lux. A custom controller communicates with the PC application via USB and controls the sign LED's. As displays became larger and more complex, with the ability to display 3-D graphic images and to display multiple images and larger images, Trans-Lux needed to upgrade its controller in order to get greater throughput of data and higher reliability of communications.
