Commercial lighting control system saves energy by automatically turning off lights in vacant rooms.

Connection of light fixtures to light switches is soft configured using Windows based software and LonWorks network - no rewiring is needed when offices are rearranged or remodeled.

LonWorks based control nodes use NV-RAM for field upgradable software storage.

The lighting control system provides automatic timed turn-on and turn-off of lights throughout a commercial building. Motion and infrared sensors may automatically turn off lights in a vacant room. The system provides convenience to the user while conserving energy.

The real selling point of the system is its soft configured wiring of the building. All light fixtures, switches, and sensors are points on a distributed control system based on LonWorks technology. Tennant changes in commercial office buildings often mean tearing down old walls and putting up new walls in different configurations. With soft configured lighting, an electrician is not needed to rearrange the electrical wiring in the reconfigured office space. Rewiring becomes a simple matter of point-and-click in menu driven configuration software. The system may pay for itself in the first remodeling job.

This system was available in Britain. J. Gordon Electronic Design then redesigned the components of the system to meet UL and other safety standards and regulatory requirements for marketing in the US and other countries not currently served.
