Digital imaging using a color CCD, analog video circuitry, flash A/D converters, FIFO memory, and a system interface are included in this project.

35mm film negatives are scanned, electronically converted to positive, color corrected, image enhanced, and finally presented for output.

Pentium PC platform is used for economy and easy operator interface, including a touch screen CRT in place of a mouse. 

 A custom digital image scanner was developed for a special application in the photo processing industry. The scanner uses digital color image scanning technology found in color document scanners, but is placed in a special configuration that allows automatic scanning of an entire roll of 35mm film in one pass.

Hardware is embedded in Pentium PC platform with software running under Windows to provide an easy user interface that operators will feel at home with.

J. Gordon Electronic Design developed custom electronics and custom software for the product, and coordinated custom mechanical design of a motorized film transport with an outside firm.
